NHTSA Complaint #11688520 — 2010 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to slow down as intended. The brake pedal was pumped several times for the vehicle to slow down. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and parked. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that a valve in the junction box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred 20 days later. The vehicle was then towed to the same independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the ABS junction block and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the manufacturer had no parts available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
