NHTSA Complaint #11676266 — 2021 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was fluid leaking from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the gasket on the rear differential had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was diagnosed that the driver’s and passenger’s side rear axle shaft assemblies had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.
