NHTSA Complaint #11674162 — 2020 FORD EDGE

The torque converter on this vehicle is a known issue to Ford, many Edges are affected by this issue. My vehicle will randomly surge and buck at low speeds as a result. Reduced power as well while going in reverse. There were never any warning signs, but the dealership said that it was a common issue on this vehicle. If I had not have been in warranty, the repair would have cost $6800. Just over six months later, the vehicle began doing the SAME thing. This time Ford says it’s the EGR valve and that it will cost a total of $1600. I managed to negotiate them down by talking to customer service, but I felt the need to bring this to others attention as I know my car isn’t the only one facing these issues.
