Consumer Description
I have repeatedly asked the manufacturer and the dealership for a resolution to the antilock brake system failure on this vehicle. This issue has been on going for months and I have no resolution. This is Ram case management # 93024671. My last correspondence is as follows: Dear Stellantis Case Management Team, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and serious safety concerns regarding my vehicle, 2018 RAM 2500. This letter follows a delayed response to my initial inquiry about the safety of my vehicle and family, which I find unacceptable. Firstly, I request an immediate and definitive anticipated release date for the crucial part that is pending. The continued uncertainty around this essential component is directly impacting my peace of mind and the perceived safety of my vehicle, my family and the general public. Secondly, I demand a thorough explanation regarding the active fault code on a manufacturer safety device within my vehicle, which your company has inexplicably deemed "normal" and stated the truck is "able to be driven." This assessment is illogical and deeply concerning. If a safety device, such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS) or a similar critical component, registers a fault code, its integrity and intended function are compromised. My fundamental question remains unanswered: If a safety system with a fault code is considered "normal" and safe, then why are such sophisticated safety features like anti-lock brakes installed in the first place? If their compromised state is acceptable, why not simply remove the entire system? This reasoning fundamentally contradicts the purpose of vehicle safety design and creates an unacceptable risk for myself and my family. I gave them 7 business days to respond- there has been no movement.
