The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that occasionally while shifted into reverse, the back over prevention camera displayed an image that was not clear. The contact stated that the message "Rearview Camera Not Available" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined the back over prevention software needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
