The contact stated while reversing, the rearview camera image was black, and the message "Rearview Camera Unavailable" was displayed on the infotainment screen on some occasions. The contact stated that the rearview camera had become inoperable. The contact stated while reversing on one occasion, the failure recurred, causing the rear of the vehicle to hit a child who was riding a bicycle. The contact stated that the child sustained minor bruises and did not receive medical assistance. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
