NHTSA Complaint #11660142 — 2019 HONDA ODYSSEY

Without any notable prior messages or symptoms prior to the failure, on [XXX] after dropping off the kids at school and then turning on my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L (28,170 miles), the "Brake System" light was on and the following 5 dashboard warning lights/messages turned on: 1) Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, 2) Lane Keeping Assist Problem, 3) Collision Mitigation System Problem, 4) Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, 5) Auto High-Beam Problem. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems no longer works, and it becomes unknown to the driver whether the "Brake System" light is being triggered only by the Collision Mitigation System Problem, or an additional problemch as the anti-lock brake system not working. While no accidents occurred, the warning lights add unneeded driver anxiety, which can contribute to a potential safety impact. The problem has been confirmed by the San Leandro, CA Honda Dealer to be error code U3000-49. Dealer diagnosed problem as "Multipurpose camera / millimeter wave radar internal circuit failure" and recommended to replace the multipurpose camera and perform aiming. Dealer advised that safety features will not work. The diagnostic fee was $179.10, and the repair fee was quoted as $2456.55 The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others.
