NHTSA Complaint #11656074 — 2022 RAM 1500

>> RAM eTorque 5.7L V8 motor stopped and emergency brake activated without warning. >> I was driving on [XXX] (*5 lanes of traffic*) in Phoenix AZ just after rush hour. The sudden deceleration of the vehicle put my wife, son, and me at extreme risk of being struck from behind by one or more vehicles traveling in excess of 65 miles per hour. >> There are multiple reports of this failure in this model of RAM truck/engine dating back to 2021. >> NHTSA opened PE24-018 to collect and analyze detailed information regarding possible causes for this issue (ref. attached letter from NHTSA in September 2024). >> There were no warning or error indicators visible on the driver dashboard/console displays.
