Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop, the transmission was slipping. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission clutch failure. The dealer determined that the clutch assembly, the clutch actuator, and the levers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
