Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the Death Wobble while driving on two occasions. The contact also stated that the vehicle was difficult to start and would start after being jump-started. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an abnormal burning plastic odor coming from the clutch intermittently while driving and shifting into gear. The contact stated that while driving 40-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message "Stop Safely - Vehicle will shut down in 30 Seconds" was displayed. The contact stated that while attempting to pull over to the side of the road, the vehicle hit the guard rail on the side of the road and bounced back, causing the rear end of the vehicle to land on the right lane of the highway while the front end was on the side of the road. The contact was able to push the entire vehicle to the side of the road with the assistance of other drivers. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assisted the contact in towing the vehicle to a parking lot. The vehicle was jump-started; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the battery and the auxiliary fuse were replaced; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer then informed the contact that the vehicle had been repaired. The contact then inquired that the dealer perform the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the dealer informed the contact that the part had been ordered and would be available in two months. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
