NHTSA Complaint #11642142 — 2018 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the transmission shifted to neutral(N) while the gear shifter was in drive(D), and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated upon shifting to park(P), the vehicle failed to respond as needed and rolled forward. The contact engaged the electric parking brake, and the vehicle responded as needed. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's daughter. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); because the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 136,972.
