The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine overheating warning light illuminated, and the engine overheated. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The contact performed an inspection under the hood of the vehicle. The contact checked the coolant level and determined the coolant level was low and the coolant reservoir was refilled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with head gasket failure. The contact was informed that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
