Consumer Description

Ford F-150 equipped with 5.0L with 68,000 miles has a significant amount of engine oil loss between recommended intervals from the manufacturer. Took vehicle to dealership it was bought from brand new, they confirmed the level. Added oil, then the service department manager said, “we’ll have to do the oil consumption test. This is the test Ford recommends on the Service Board and they know about the problem.” They will send data to Ford, and Ford will recommend to “more than likely put a new motor in.” Since I’m just out of warranty, I have to pay over $15,000 out of pocket for a problem Ford knows about.
