NHTSA Complaint #11636040 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the driver’s side door latch froze and failed to latch securely. The contact stated that the failure occurred in colder climates for several hours. The contact stated that after the vehicle had warmed up for 15 minutes, the door latch operated as designed and the door closed properly. The contact was concerned about the safety of the vehicle with the door not locking as needed. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed, and the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
