The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was informed that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact was informed that the failure might be related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
