NHTSA Complaint #11626726 — 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE

On approximately [XXX], I got a warning notification on my console that said "4 wheel drive needs to be serviced". We took our vehicle immediately into the Lithia Ram of Tri Cities Ram Dealership in Kennewick Washington and was told they will order the part. We did not hear from them and my husband went back to the dealership in two weeks and they told us that we had an appointment with them that morning for them to run a diagnostic on our 2015 Jeep. We did not know that (their employee had forgotten to write it on his business card) and they had forgotten to tell us of that appointment. They rescheduled for 2 weeks later for August 29, 2024. They ran the diagnostic on the car and was advised it was a recall on a ptu on the 4 wheel drive unit. They said we could drive it, but no more than 50 miles. I now drive this vehicle very little because I am afraid that the transmission will fail. We have patiently waited and was advised the part would be in on November 20, 2024. We text them today and was told that they they apologize for the delay in ordering the part and the ptu part is pending January 15, 2025 now to submit an order. They blame Chrysler for the delay of getting the ptu part. The warning notification comes up on my front screen that the "4 wheel drive needs to be serviced" when I drive the car less than one half a mile to the grocery store. I am very afraid that the transmission will fail when I am crossing a busy street and will be hit by another car. I will stop driving my car. I never received a recall notice.
