NHTSA Complaint #11626147 — 2022 HYUNDAI SANTA FE

The back doors should unlock when the SUV is put in park or the motor is turned off. However, it does not unlock over 25% of the time. This means the back doors can not be opened from the outside or inside. People in the back cannot get out unless the doors are manually unlocked from the control panel in the front. This is a real safety issue if there was an accident and the people are trapped in the car. This issue has been reported to the dealer for almost two years. They have not been able to fix the issue. I have reported this problem to Hyundai National Consumer Affairs (case # [XXX]) asking for their help. I ask if this falls under the lemon law since it can not be fixed and is safety issue.
