The contact owns a 2023 BMW X7. The contact stated while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the automatic emergency braking system engaged while there was no nearby obstacle or vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the forward collision avoidance system was sensitive and needed to be adjusted in the infotainment settings. No further assistance was provided. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
