NHTSA Complaint #11614246 — 2023 BMW X7

The contact owns a 2023 BMW X7. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while reversing out of parking space at approximately 3 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed to stop the vehicle to shift to drive; however, the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The messages "Reduced Braking Assist", "Parking Brake Malfunction", and “Service Required” messages were displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle stopped when the parking brake independently engaged. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
