Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2019 Acura TLX. The contact stated that the auto START/STOP system was inoperable, and the vehicle was repaired under TSB Number: 22-008. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) was intermittently inoperable. The contact stated that on the occasions that the LKAS was operable while driving, the lane keeping assist caused the steering wheel to jerk and pull the vehicle into another lane. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) engaged while there was no other vehicle nearby. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle sputtered, jerked, decelerated, and significantly pulled towards side of the road. The contact was able to safely pull to the side of the road. The messages "Road Departure Mitigation Problem", "Lane Keeping Assist problem", "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem" and other unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the Forward Collision Avoidance camera had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
