NHTSA Complaint #11611631 — 2017 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while cold starting the vehicle, the vehicle was idling roughly, and the entire vehicle was vibrating. The contact was not aware of any warning lights being illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred two more times and the dealer replaced the cam phasers. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred but was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 Cam Phaser replacement (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
