NHTSA Complaint #11610421 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150 The contact stated while stopped at a traffic signal, the low oil pressure warning illuminated. The contact continued driving approximately 30 MPH and drove the vehicle back to the shop where an oil change had recently been performed. The shop technician informed the contact that the oil pan plug and the gasket had both slipped off the plastic oil pan. The contact was advised that the oil plug was not stripped and had loosened from the oil pan. The contact stated that the shop had replaced the oil pan plug and the plug gasket. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and became aware similar failures with the plastic oil pan. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
