NHTSA Complaint #11610178 — 2017 CHEVROLET VOLT

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Volt. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the message “Gasoline Engine not Available” displayed. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the EGR valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
