NHTSA Complaint #11609327 — 2016 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that there was oil leaking from the oil pan. There was oil on the driveway and garage floor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called an independent mechanic, who determined that the oil pan gasket needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that the parts were on back-order. The local dealer was contacted and suggested a diagnostic test be performed; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
