NHTSA Complaint #11609047 — 2018 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine misfired with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as coolant intrusion leaking into the cylinders. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,256.
