NHTSA Complaint #11608197 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for an oil change and was informed that the engine oil level was extremely low. The contact stated that after the oil change was performed, while checking the oil level, the contact became aware that the level was dropping and there was no evidence of an oil leak. The contact stated that adding approximately 1 quart of oil was added every month. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
