NHTSA Complaint #11603164 — 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the 4-WD warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with Power Transfer Unit (PTU) failure. The contact was informed that the Power Transfer Unit needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 121,500.
