NHTSA Complaint #11599224 — 2023 BMW X7

The contact owns a 2023 BMW X7. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed was depressed but required added effort in depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the brakes, and service engine warning lights were illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a brake booster failure. The contact was informed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 4,152. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
