NHTSA Complaint #11595524 — 2020 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle sputtered until reaching 35 MPH. The contact stated that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed torque converter. The contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. In addition, the contact was informed about TSB: 21-2081; however, the contact was informed that the repair could not be covered under the TSB. The failure mileage was approximately 68,200.
