Consumer Description

While driving on a straight stretch of highway at posted highway speeds of 75mph, no additional acceleration, torque, turning, or high rpms, my bike experienced a sudden jolt and immediate loss of propulsion. I was able to pull to the side of the highway to find my front left drive shaft had completely sheared off, the front sproket (currently under recall, which has not yet been replaced according to my dealer's service records) thankfully was caught by the frame underneath or it could have flown out into traffic and hit the other biker behind me or other traffic, or causing me to crash. My drive belt remained fully in tact but was dislodged and dragging, another risk factor for crash. There was absolutely NO warning indicators, lamps, warning lights, messages at all. I definitely felt my life was at risk with this issue. The bike has only 8400 miles on it. Upon additional research online, it shows others have had this same issue and have stated possible casting defects of the drive shaft from the manufacturer. I have the parts currently in my posession, and have an appointment June 26, 2024 with the dealer for inspection.
