The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure). The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact observed pieces of rubber on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides were deteriorating. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the exterior A-Pillar trim needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
