NHTSA Complaint #11581426 — 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle independently decelerated and failed to exceed 45 MPH. The contact stated that the traction control and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle, then the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with an unknown failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure had recurred several times. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
