Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rear tailgate locking mechanism had malfunctioned causing the tailgate lever to become stuck and causing the tailgate door to erroneously open and fail to remain closed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the Extended Warranty coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
