NHTSA Complaint #11572907 — 2019 FORD FUSION ENERGI

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH at night, the message "System Fault" and "Safely Stop" were displayed, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. A message advising to shift to neutral and restart the vehicle was displayed. The contact shifted into neutral(N), but the vehicle failed to restart and was in Accessory mode. The message "Shutting System Down to Save Battery " was displayed, and the vehicle shut off. There was no electrical power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to partially reimburse the expenses of a rental. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
