The contact owns a 2023 Audi Q4 E-Tron. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V842000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that he had plugged the compact portable charging system into a 220/240V wall socket that licensed electricians had installed. The contact stated that after returning to the residence a short time later, there was a burning plastic odor inside the garage. The contact checked the charging cable and the wall socket and became aware that the socket was partially melted. The contact disconnected the portable charger from the wall socket. The contact stated that the 220/240V wall socket was no longer operable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
