The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light and low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that an abnormally loud sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact's wife described the noise as a metal-on-metal grinding. Additionally, the vehicle was shaking erratically. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with catastrophic engine failure and that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 81,111.
