Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact added oil to the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called an independent mechanic who referred her to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ball bearing and valve cover gasket needed to be replaced. The rotors and brakes were metal-to-metal, and the vehicle was losing oil. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
