NHTSA Complaint #11553385 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the engine made a rattling sound. The contact stated while driving the vehicle and or while the engine was idling, the engine was idling rough and seemed to experience a misfire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and received a repair under an unknown Customer Satisfaction Program related to the cam phasers. The dealer re-flashed the computer; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.
