NHTSA Complaint #11540786 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that cylinder #6 was misfiring. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer, where the same assessment was made. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was experiencing an abnormal oil consumption. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.
