NHTSA Complaint #11532652 — 2016 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact used a DTC reader and determined that the cause of the failure was a defective crank shaft, cam shaft, and oxygen sensors. Despite the repairs made to vehicle, the check engine light remained. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where he was informed that coolant had leaked into cylinder #1. The contact was advised to stop driving the vehicle and contacted the dealer. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall and a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer confirmed the failure and informed the contact that the engine block needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
