NHTSA Complaint #11532116 — 2020 FORD F-250

About a year after I purchased the truck, the transmission started shifting extremely hard on occasion making a loud bang and the truck lunges on the shift. The truck shifts so hard on occasions that it sounds like it could explode. Transmission failure could cause numerous safety issues for myself, passengers and other drivers; flying parts sudden stop and/or loss of control while driving to mention a few. I have mentioned the shifting problem on at least two occasions when the truck has been at a Ford dealership for regular maintenance but I was told it not shift hard for them and that nothing is wrong with it. I am 71 years old and worked on vehicles all my life and the occasional extremely hard shifting is not normal and is an indicator to me that something is not right. No warning lights come on prior to, during or after the hard shift to my knowledge. I have read numerous complaints by other F250 owners, recalls to repair Gen 1 trannys and in a lot of instances the Gen1 transmission was replaced with Gen 2. I would prefer a “new” transmission.
