The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated to 15 MPH. The contact stated that he allowed the vehicle to coast off the highway and was able to drive the vehicle to his residence at approximately 12 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine and coolant temperature warning lights were illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that coolant had leaked into the engine cylinders and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 19-2346 Coolant In Cylinders (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
