Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine while starting the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the cam phasers where defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
