Consumer Description

The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while her daughter was attempting to shift gear, the transmission failed to shift in between gear. The parking brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who informed the contact that there was water intrusion from the liftgate into the electrical system. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V338000 (Electrical System, Structure). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
