NHTSA Complaint #11522609 — 2015 FORD EXPEDITION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while attempting to activate the A/C or heater, the blower fan failed to operate as designed. The contact stated that the defogger/defroster was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the two connectors underneath the steering that were attached to the blower motor fan had melted. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System) for which the VIN was included. The recall repair was completed; however, the mechanic determined that the repair had not fixed the vehicle and that the connectors needed to be replaced. The wire connectors were not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
