Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that upon exiting the vehicle, he attempted to open the front driver's side door, and the door latch weld cracked. As a result, the front driver’s side door failed to open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it remained and was diagnosed and determined that the front driver’s side door needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was unavailable.
