NHTSA Complaint #11516396 — 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while slowing down to make a U turn, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the power steering became operable after making the turn and accelerating. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while slowing down to make a turn. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the power steering control module (PSCM) had been reprogrammed in 2019. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
