NHTSA Complaint #11515276 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the steering wheel seized. The steering fault message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the steering gear motor had detached. The mechanic replaced the steering gear motor. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
