NHTSA Complaint #11514610 — 2014 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that during cold weather, the power steering failed to operate without warning. The contact initially took the vehicle to a dealer, but the mechanic was unable to service the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where the mechanic discovered moisture inside the power steering module. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.
