NHTSA Complaint #11692525 — 2014 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the vehicle experienced a loss of steering control, and it became difficult to turn the steering wheel. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a used car dealer, who scheduled a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
